Hood Engineering is a Dorset based sub-contract engineering company. With over 25 years of experience working within the manufacturing industry, we bring a high level of knowledge and understanding to fitting, fabrication, and machining processes.
We offer a wide range of services including fitting and assembly work, TIG welding and MIG welding, fabrication and sheet metal work, manual machining, and CNC machining. All our above services are supported by CAD design, allowing us to produce almost any part from drawings or a simple sketch.
FITTING
Our fully trained engineers can assist with the build and installation
of everything from simple assemblies to complex fitting jobs from start to finish.
You can supply parts, or we can source or manufacture the parts required.
This allows us to offer a complete build service from start to finish
to ensure your parts work as designed.
MACHINING
We have all your machining demands covered by using traditional machine methods and the latest in CNC technology.
With a range of both manual and CNC lathes and mills at our disposal, we can machine simple parts in the most cost-effective manner. We can also produce complex parts to meet your needs. No matter what your machine needs are, quality comes first at Hood Engineering.
WELDING & FABRICATION
We pride ourselves on our welding and fabrication services and skills. With a dedicated team of time served welders, we can turn your welding and fabrication requirements into reality.
From one-off welding projects to batch welding work, we can deliver what you need. We have both TIG and MIG welded capabilities with dedicated workshops for both nonferrous and ferrous metals.

PROFILING & FOLDING
We use the most advanced profiling and folding equipment, including bystronic laser cutting systems and flow waterjet profile cutting technology to cater to your flat profiling needs. We utilise the latest in timesaver machines to offer profiles in a dull polish finish on both sides with edge radiusing.
Once your profiles are cut, we fold them to meet your specifications.
